38th Annual Concord Rotary Club Salvation Army Can-A-Thon

December 9-10, 2017

Weekend Update:

You all truly blew the food drive out of the park this weekend!!! We beat our record from last year of 3,019 pieces. Overall, our store alone collected 3,197 pieces of non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army food pantry! We were 2nd place in collections overall. Woo hoo! Countywide, we helped collect 20,765 units. That is simply amazing!!! That food will help fill a lot of hungry bellies this winter in Cabarrus County.

As your store Co-captains, De...bi and I can’t thank each of you enough for braving the cold, rain, sleet and snow. We were thrilled to have so many wonderful folks from Pack 173, HRHS Interact and the SW Cabarrus Rotary Club to work with this year. We hope you will join us again next year!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

A Message From The President

Chad Westbrook
Rotary Year 2016-2017

This years theme for Rotary is “Rotary Serving Humanity” and it couldn’t be a better theme for me and my presidency this year. This fits right into my beliefs. I think we are here to help one another and try to make our time on earth a better place and show people that we care. Therefore, I joined Rotary 4 years ago, I wanted to find the same minded people to serve humanity with. Our club does so much for our community, like feeding the hungry, raising money for Alzheimer, helping with local projects and so much more. Rotary has helped me be a part of an organization that helps serve humanity at the local level and worldwide level that I couldn’t do on my own.

Just like every president in the past and in the future, our goal is to grow the club. By growing our club, we can serve more to our community, do more projects locally and nationally. Past president Dale Gentle set a plan in motion last year to grow our club by two members each year for the next five years. My year I would like to make that number higher and try to grow by four this year. We got off to a quick start with two joining the first week of my year so I think we can get another two (hopefully more) this year.
