Today, October 15, 2013, we had an incredible presentation by Barbi Jones from United Way of the Carolinas. She told us about the day in the life of the recipients of their money. The day was June 28, 2013 – homebound seniors were fed and celebrated birthdays from Cabarrus Meals on Wheels, the American Red Cross was helping those suffering from flood damage, children went to camp at the Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA and CVAN was sheltering women and children… and the rest of our lives went on. One day you may be in need of the services provided by the United Way and their 24 supported agencies… it’s good to know they are there when we need them. Thankfully, they were there on June 28th for all of these people and to think that is only one out of 365 days a year! They can only maintain these services with the help of our community! Keep up the great work Jordan, Katie and Barbi! https://www.facebook.com/uwcccabarrus
